Weiner Alert

I had a professor in bible college who would always say, "Now, love me on this, folks" when he was about to tell you something you might be shocked about.

So, love me on this, folks....

I have a knitting blog.

Did I hear gasps, or mostly just groans?

I know, I know. Some may not understand. But I'm not the only one out there with a knitting blog...there's tons of us...and you won't be able to get rid of us. Knitting is a passion for so many and here's why it's mine:

1. Knitting takes time.
2. Giving a hand knit gift that took hours to make is very satisfying
3. Knitting keeps me sane and prevents cabin fever.
4. Knitting is tactile, warm and delicious!

What you saw your grandmother knit with her WalMart yarn and what you see sold at the farmer's markets is not the kind of knitting I do. I knit cool stuff, or at least it's cool to me.

So check me out and see how awesome knitting really is! www.oldsoulknits.blogspot.com

Trains, Planes and Automobiles

Liam is officially nuts for trains! He can't seem to get enough of his "choo-choos" - they go to bed with him and they are the first thing he asks for in the morning. We can see the trains go through town from our front window which gives Liam even more thrills than playing with his trains. Even when Liam wakes up in the middle of the night, he likes to look out the window to see if the train is going past.

Liam also likes to give me a running commentary as we drive down the highway. When he sees a semi truck in the on-coming lane he exclaims, "Mama!" and he's not happy unless I say, "Oh, yes, Liam, there's a big truck!" Then I have to wave to the truck as it passes (there must be a lot of confused truck drivers out there). Once the truck is out of view I hear, "Mama!" again and Liam signs that the truck is all gone. We repeat this multiple times per trip because Liam's never tires of it, even if I get weary!

From Grandma Town's living-room window, Liam can see the airplanes taking off from the airport - he's very impressed by these fancy flying machines! Liam also had the chance to visit Nialle at work and watch his daddy drive around in the fork lift. Liam's face lit up when he saw his dad behind such an impressive machine!

Nialle and Liam working hard together!
