All in (Another) Hard Day's Work

Operation Lawn continues to move full-steam ahead.

Today I had the help of my mom, dad, and brothers and we piled up all the branches we'd collected over the past month, raked the lawn and continued to bust sod for my garden!

Of course, you need to take a break and enjoy some fruit with whipped cream and coconut to replenish all those calories you burned!

Liam certainly found Uncle Nethanel to have a comfy lap!

Another one bites the dust...

We had a rotted tree that needed to come down - so, Bob, a guy from Nialle's work offered to come over and help us take down the tree.

First, they'd tie a rope around the limb they wanted to take off.

Then Bob would cut notches in the tree and the two of them would pull on the limb until it came down.

Chainsaw massacre!
Thanks, boys!

Liam at Lunch

Liam loves to eat! He'll nurse first, then eat an avocado and then half a banana - it's crazy. Here's a fun video I took of him the other day while he was eating luch.

I'm so big...I'm not small...

Liam seems to be changing so much these days.

He loves to stand and look out our windows...

As soon as I put him down in the kitchen he "inch worms" his way over to the register and works it loose...

He likes to pick out his own toys from his toy box...
...and he's even been learning to play the guitar!

Lucky Liam!

Over the weekend, we had our families come and visit. Liam got to have both grandmas and four uncles give him a bath - he's one lucky dude!
Here he is with Grandma Farm and Uncle Josiah and Uncle Joel.
Here's his Sunday night bath with Grandma Town and Uncle Josh and Unlce Levi.

Liam's crawling

...well, sort of. He's doing the "commando crawl", but you'll never guess what makes him crawl with such determination!

All in a Hard Day's Work

Our yard looked as though it had been neglected for a number of years...the hedge was well over 6' high.

(sorry the picture is so dark)

So today I rented a hedge trimmer and mowed it all down. I was hoping to employ Nethanel to help me, but he decided he would much rather shoot gophers (teenagers!)

So, Mom was gracious enough to come over and help me by watching Liam. Here they are about to go on a walk...don't you just love his hat?

With Liam being entertained, I was able to finish the hedge...looks a little rough, but leaves should help make it look nicer...

(The yellow thing is a kiddy pool the former owners didn't bother to take with them. I also found two dog toys, a pair of sunglasses, an empty whiskey bottle and a pile of grass clippings that they left behind in the snow! grumble)

After, it was time for me to rest my weary muscles and enjoy a cuppa outside with Mom and my favorite little man...
Thanks for all your help, Mom - I appreciated it!

Liam's Life

Liam just turned 8 months...here's a typical day for this 8-month-old...

First we start off with some breakfast...broccoli!

Liam likes to play with his truck...when it's not rolling away from him on our sloped floors.

Liam loves to go on long walks. He sings and talks to himself the whole way!
At 6pm, dad comes home and we all have supper...Liam is figuring out how to feed himself with the spoon.
After supper, dad gives Liam a bath...those two have a blast together!
